Thanksgiving Alert: How to Avoid Post Liposuction Weight Gain

Liposuction Salt Lake City & Layton, UT If there’s one thing that Thanksgiving is known for it’s giving people a few extra pounds around their waistline. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, if you just got liposuction from Dr. York Yates you may be wondering how on earth you are going to keep off any added weight. Don’t worry, Dr. Yates has got you covered with a few simple tips.

Start the Day off Right

One of the best ways for you to get ahead of the weight gain is to start your day with a good Thanksgiving workout. If you’re looking for something festive to do with your family, why not do a Thanksgiving day run in the morning? The great thing about Utah is that there are tons of Turkey Trots or Turkey Day 5k’s for you to join. By burning extra calories first thing in the morning, you won’t have to worry too much when you eat that piece of pumpkin pie.

Small Servings

Thanksgiving is all about loading your plate up as much as possible, right? Only if you want to gain some extra weight. Rather than making a mound of food on your plate, try dishing up small servings of food instead. By only having a little bit of food on your plate, you are more likely to get full off of it without overeating.

Watch the Extra Carbs

Yes, you can enjoy a small serving of sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole, but try to watch the extra carbs. For instance, rather than eating a bread roll, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie, just choose one to eat; that way you are satisfied without the fear of too much weight gain.

We want all of our patients to get the most out of their liposuction results which is why we encourage them to continue dieting and exercising even after surgery. To avoid any thanksgiving weight gain this year, use the tips listed above in this article.
