Aveli targets the structural causes of cellulite beneath the skin with precision, offering a minimally invasive treatment that can dramatically improve the smoothness of your skin. What Is Avéli?

Avéli™ is a minimally invasive procedure approved by the FDA that delivers a lasting reduction in cellulite dimples on the buttocks and thighs. Avéli provides Dr. Yates with a new, and relatively simple way to release the bands under the skin that contribute to many cases of cellulite. The device allows for precise cellulite treatment without damage to surrounding structural elements.

During surgery, the handheld device is passed through a small incision, beneath the skin, to the location of the dimples. Each dimple is precisely identified by a light that is visible through the skin. A small blade can be activated and hidden by the buttons on the device, hidden to pass the device through the tissue, and activated while releasing the bands. When activated, Dr.Yates will release the bands that are causing the dimple precisely. The blade can be hidden and the device can then be passed, often through the same incision, to another dimple and the procedure repeated.

The best candidates for aveli cellulite treatment in Utah are at or near their ideal bodyweight, have good skin elasticity, and have cellulite dimples they wish to improve

Although cellulite dimples can be greatly improved with Aveli, the results typically result in improvement, but not 100% resolution of cellulite.

Aveli by itself is only designed to release septal bands. However, this can be used in combination with skin tightening procedures or fat reshaping procedures such as liposuction and fat transfer to enhance the result.

Although Aveli does not require fat grafting for success, Dr. Yates is a big fan of fat transfer at the same time. One of the limitations of any procedure that releases fascial bands is that scar tissue in the location of the band please can cause a degree of recurrence. By grafting fat in the space that has been released, there is a physical separation of the bands and improved results. This does add cost and recovery of liposuction to the procedure but for most a worthwhile tradeoff.

Aveli is basically a subcision on steroids. Subcision is used to release the fascial bands. With Aveli, the release is more complete, accurate, and without damage to surrounding tissue that can lead to scarring.

Is Aveli cellulite treatment painful?

Patients typically experience minimal discomfort during the Aveli treatment. Local anesthesia is used to numb the treatment area, ensuring a comfortable experience. Post-treatment, you may notice slight bruising or tenderness, but this usually subsides quickly.

How long does an Aveli treatment session last?

A single Aveli treatment session generally lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area being treated and the severity of the cellulite. Dr. Yates will provide a detailed estimate of your treatment time during your consultation.

What can I expect after undergoing Aveli treatment?

After the procedure, you can typically return to normal activities within a day or two. Mild soreness and bruising are normal but should resolve within a week. Most patients see noticeable improvements in skin texture and a reduction in cellulite within a few weeks, with results continuing to improve in the months following treatment.

How many sessions of Aveli will I need?

Many patients achieve significant results with just one Aveli session. However, the number of treatments required can vary based on the extent of cellulite and the desired outcome. Dr. Yates will develop a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.

Are the results of Aveli permanent?

While Aveli effectively reduces the appearance of cellulite by releasing the fibrous bands, maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle can help prolong the results. Hormonal changes and aging might influence skin structure in the future, so some patients opt for touch-up treatments to maintain their smooth skin appearance.

Why are women more susceptible to cellulite than men?

Cellulite is more common in women than in men due to several physiological and hormonal differences that influence fat distribution, connective tissue structure, and skin thickness.

  • Fat Distribution: Women typically store more fat in areas like the thighs and buttocks, where cellulite commonly appears.
  • Connective Tissue Structure: Women's connective tissue is often vertically aligned, making it easier for fat to push through and create cellulite, unlike men’s criss-cross pattern.
  • Hormonal Factors: Estrogen in women influences fat and connective tissue, potentially increasing cellulite visibility, especially with hormonal changes over time.
  • Skin Thickness: Women generally have thinner skin than men, making the bumps of cellulite more noticeable.
