This is a fairly common question. The short answer is yes, it is always best to wait if you know you are planning on having more children. Some times a patient either isn’t sure if they will have any more children, or know that it would be in the distant future if they choose to.

The issues are 1) would getting pregnant after a tummy tuck hurt the baby. and 2) would getting pregnant after a tummy tuck ruin the results. The answer to #1 is no, the abdominal muscles and skin will stretch even after muscle repair and skin tightening. As a result the answer to #2 is yes, the results could be hurt by the pregnancy.
Most women want their post-pregnancy bodies back while they are still young making this an ongoing dilemma for the young mother who is uncertain of the future.
Wait if you can, if not realize that you may need a touch up or revision of your tummy tuck after additional pregnancies.
