What to expect after breast augmentation

Any type of surgery has its own set of post-procedure symptoms to look for. With a Salt Lake City breast augmentation procedure with Dr. York Yates, the following physical symptoms are to be expected:

  • Mild to moderate swelling and bruising are to be expected post-surgery. Swelling may take several weeks before it will completely subside. Bruising is normal and may appear within 7 to 10 days after the surgery.
  • Mild to moderate pain and discomfort is often felt a week after the procedure. Take your pain medications as necessary and avoid heavy physical activities.  Moderate range of motion of the arms can be very helpful to help the discomfort.
  • Burning and/or tingling sensation coupled with numbness is also usual within the first few days/ weeks due to nerve stretching.
