Case Details

The patient is a 40-year-old female who had saline breast augmentation and an anchor scar lifted elsewhere 13 years ago.   The implants were saline 330 cc Allergan.   She had spontaneous deflation of the right side soon before presenting to Dr. Yates.   We discussed many options, including simply removing implants, replacing them with new implants, and a secondary lift.   Due to the deflation, she could see her natural size and shape on the right, and she determined she would be satisfied with implant removal alone and she is happy with the outcome.    Saline implants rupture at a rate of about 1-3% per year; removal or replacement surgery is generally pretty easy.
