Burn Surgery

Burns can result in life threatening, functional and cosmetic consequences.  Large burns are best treated in a burn center, such as that at the University of Utah burn center.

The treatment of acute burn injuries involves avoiding infection, dressing therapy and possible wound coverage with skin grafting or flaps as necessary.

Chronic burn deformity treatment involves scar treatment and scar revisions, relief of joint contractures and skin grafts and flaps as necessary.
