Reconstructive surgery is performed by plastic surgeons to restore appearance and function of tissues that have been affected by trauma, tumor or birth defects. A complete listing of all reconstructive procedures is beyond the scope of this site. Dr. Yates has undergone intensive training in all aspects of reconstructive surgery including completing a microsurgical fellowship.   Dr. Yates considers this kind of surgery extremely satisfying and rewarding.

As opposed to cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery is generally covered by most insurance plans.
