Liposuction of the arms can be very effective. The best candidates have excess fat with very little loose skin
Loose skin of the arms can be tightened with liposuction to a small degree. If the amount of loose skin is significant, a brachioplasty may be the procedure of choice. The disadvantage of brachioplasty is the scar.
The skin on the inner arms can be quite thin. Small diameter cannulas should be used treating both the deep fat and that associated with the skin.
It is extremely important to wear the compression garment to help encourage skin redraping. The garment should be worn day and night as much as possible for 3 weeks after surgery.
Liposuction of the arms generally requires light sedation and tumescent local anesthesia.
